Garden & Pool

A tranquil pretty garden, full of blossom, blooms and birdsong!

If you wander around the communal garden (observing other residents privacy of course) you will find a different view over each boundary. The large mahogany at the front, has recently been pruned, but the view over the ocean and Mullins from this part of the garden is spectacular At the east side is the car park, and entrance from the private road. This road also used to lead to Eastry House Hotel but was razed to the ground some years ago. The view looks into the mature trees, where you sometimes see the monkeys which roam all over the island. If you walk or drive just a little way up the hill, you quickly reach the sugar cane fields, and recently we have seen the introduction of Cotton fields too, which continue right up to the next highway about a mile up the hill on the next ridge. Go and have a look at them, especially if you are here at harvest time.

Opposite the front door of our villa, just across the road deep down in the cut rock , is Mullins Mill, a fine example of an old Sugar Mill (circa.1690), but which unfortunately no longer has its sails. It has now been transformed into a luxury home, in magnificent grounds and is available to rent. (If you want the details, just find them online) . In ourĀ garden on the opposite side to the Mill, if you look down from the pool patio you will see into the gully below, which is a naturally formed water course through the coral. Note the sole tall majestic King Palm growing from the base of the gully, many feet below.

Finally, over the west facing perimeter there is a magnificent ocean view and a look over the houses in Mullins. Its a lovely community and a pleasure to live in it.

The attractive raised pool is reached up the steps and has steps down into the water. It also has a “Martini” seat in one corner, when you can sit and relax with a drink. There is room for two! The patio is obviously also a pleasant place to soak up the sun.

Beautifully kept, with warm water heated by the sunshine throughout the year.
